About This Course
Design decisions have a sequence. Get it wrong and you pay for it in change orders, delays, and re-orders. Cabinet dimensions depend on appliance specs. Countertop templates depend on cabinet installation. Tile quantities need to be on-site before the tile setter is scheduled. Every decision made out of order adds cost and time.
Lesson 1 teaches you the correct seven-step decision sequence and then walks you through every element of a well-structured renovation contract, so you understand what you are signing and retain the leverage you need to protect the final outcome.
What you'll be able to do by the end:
- Follow the correct decision sequence from layout confirmation through hardware selection
- Map lead times to your build schedule so no decision is made too late
- Read and negotiate a renovation contract - scope, materials, timeline, payments, and change orders
- Structure milestone payments so you retain leverage from deposit to punch list
- Handle change orders correctly before one comes up mid-build
